B. Investigation and Research on Environmental Geologic Hazards
Investigation on fundamental environmental geological information is the basis of this project. The issues
include landslides, topography, geomorphology, natural and man-made depositions, colluvial deposits, and
erosion. Maps showing extent of areas sensitive to environmental geologic hazards are presented. In this
project, following operation criteria for environmental geologic investigation, a guide and procedure for
identifying and siting is compiled.
During the 2002 fiscal year fourteen 1:25,000 scale basic maps on environmental geology of slopelands, and
maps on distribution of environmental geologic hazard sensitive areas were completed. These maps will
provide reference in risk evaluation in slopeland utilization, and will be of help in slopeland development.
