Groundwater Monitoring Network Plan in Taiwan Observation

Taiwan has a huge economic development and population increase those years .In order to useful control underground-water resources , establish completely hydro geological map and hydro geological data base are very important .Major project "Groundwater Monitoring Network Plan in Taiwan Observation", it survey different groundwater unit of Taiwan at 17 years period .Now the hydro geological map of Chusuishi Fan and Pingtong Plain were finished ,Chanan Plain,Lanyan Plain and Ju-Miao area are continual.

The hydro geological investigations are first performed with the establishment of the well networks. As supplementary measure, shallow boring and row-boring are also performed as subsurface geological investigation measure. The cores from drilling operation are logged to record the constituting materials, and the core is analyzed, tested and age-dated to understand the subsurface characteristic of the sedimental strata at the site of the survey areas. To combine these geological data with the information of groundwater levels and water qualities, the conceptual hydro geological models are able to be developed to conduct the numerical simulation.
