The new "Creative Geotourism" theme of Geological Cloud – Let’s explore the beauty of Hualien and Taitung, Taiwan online

In order to combine national tourism with geological education, and allow the public to better understand the geological landscapes of different places in Taiwan, the Central Geological Survey of Ministry of Economic Affairs (CGS, MOEA) has added a new service called "Creative Geotourism" to the official website, providing people with online visits to the geological attractions.

The public can find the geological value-added application platform under the geological information service on the official website of CGS, and then enter the hyperlink called "Creative Geotourism" to obtain the tourism information of suggested attractions as well as geological characteristics (URL: https://www.geologycloud.tw/map/geocreative/zh-tw). The "Creative Geotourism" service provides 10 creative geological tourism articles in Hualien and Taitung, where are the most popular travel destinations. It shows the content of geotourism articles in the form of a geographic information system, to provide knowledge of local geology. When traveling outdoors, you can use mobile phone or other mobile devices to connect to the CGS website, showing your present location, and can view the content of professional articles on nearby geological attractions and quickly obtain the relevant geological information, not only enhancing the in-depth tourism, but also obtaining the geological knowledge.

The “Geological Cloud” is a geological value-added application platform, which integrates local geology, humanities, leisure activities, and recreations, providing people online visits to the geological attractions. In addition to the integrated geological data and maps, the platform also shows the results of active faults, strata, soil liquefaction, engineering drilling investigations, etc.. It provides various thematic application services in a visual manner, and displays the simple, easy-to-use and useful geological information for the public. People are welcome to visit the website and enjoy the service.
