The soil liquefaction susceptibility map of Taiwan is going to be renewed by CGS and released online in late December, 2021
The soil liquefaction susceptibility map of Taiwan is going to be renewed and released on 30, Dec, 2021; the update will be available on the websites “Soil Liquefaction Susceptibility Query System” (https://www.liquid.net.tw/cgs/public/) and “National Geological Data Website” (https://gis3.moeacgs.gov.tw/). Meanwhile, the printed version “Taiwan Soil Liquefaction Susceptibility Map” bas been also published.
The Central Geological Survey, MOEA, has continued investigating soil liquefaction susceptibility since 1992, and published the soil liquefaction susceptibility map covering all metropolitan areas of Taiwan Island in 2019. The update released this year has been reanalyzed based on the data collected in recent years from the Ministry of Interior, city/county governments, and CGS; and the administrative areas with renewed susceptibility map are Taipei City, New Taipei City, Yilan County, Taichung City, Changhua County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, and Pingtung County. The update provides more comprehensive information for engineering application and disaster management.
