What is landslide?

Landslide refers to the downward movement of rocks, soils or detritus along the slope (Cruden ,1991).

When the slope soils and rocks continue to move downwards under the influence of gravity, the process is known as a mass movement or slope movement. Landslide is a type of slope movement.
